What is the largest yellow or strawberry guava anyone has seen?

I had a random seedling produce golf ball size fruits that were 4 times bigger than any of the many other fruiting seedlings I have . I know it did not happen without a photo and I think I took one and may even return to post it here , but just generally wondering how abnormal this really is?
I swore I would cull all the red and keep MAYBE 1 yellow, but now...

Wow, thats pretty large.
i would be interested in seeds from that fruit
if you get another one.

Keep an eye on which branch it comes from too.
i am wondering if its possible that it is a "sport" ?
If all from the same branch, you should carefully air-layer it,
grow it out, and propagate several, then graft to some seedlings.
You could name it as well :)

My yellow is almost golf ball size. Assumed that was common. One of my favorite fruit trees.

Culling fruit on my two bushes does wonders for making the fruit come out its largest, and they are much better tasting than the strawberry version AND do not have the fruit fly problem as bad as the strawberry version.

Mine won't fruit for a while, but when it does, I'll post in the sale trade section and mail them to anyone who wants them.

Strawberry guavas to me have their own unique taste, so very difficult to compare to taste of other fruits. Kind of like trying to describe the taste of banana to someone who has never tasted banana.

Yep.. totally agree with this.

Hi, i went to the tree and saw this in one fruit:

it should be a bird, dont you think?

then, picked a more ripe one:

it smell like strawberry ;D

I tried this more ripe fruit than before ones, and it was really excellent, exquisite, if I have to compare it to something, say it was a cross between plum and strawberry.

Another important fact: I gave it to my wife to try (we ate each half) and it seemed tasty, she liked it: that's important because she likes very few meals.

I can not believe that in Argentina, one of the countries of origin of arazá, it is not sold anywhere!
Was it a bird? I don't think so.
