Do you have to be part of the tasting to participate in the tree sale? Im looking for a lemon zest (or cotton candy, parsons, señorita) mango tree. As well as jalisco red guava. Also looking for mango scions. Thanks.

I really wish I could make it this year! Unfortunately I will be out of town that week.  If you’re willing to sell any scions another time please let me know!

I’ve had request from folks that won’t be able to attend because it’s a weekday.. I apologize the date is firm....the only free day I have in July.

Vince, you can text me anytime to see what mango trees I have available. Señorita will not be available for the foreseeable future. As I mentioned last month guavas will be available in fall I’ve been in Yucatán most of the summer, I’ve had quite a lot of grafts die.

Frank,

Would have loved to attend but it's a working day for me.
Unfortunately will have to drop out.
May be next year.

Hi Kaz & Alan
The tasting/sale went very well thanks to all the participants! We had 20 outstanding varieties to sample and I hope everyone came out with an idea of what mangos they would like to grow in their yards. look for the anona scion sale in late august and perhaps we'll try another group cottonseed meal sale if there is any interest. If anyone has pix of the tasting they would like to share feel free to post it on this thread.

Thank you again Frank for a wonderful day! I had the taste of mango on my tongue the whole car ride home, and dreams of mangos swirling in my head all night...That canistel smoothie was incredible and I need that recipe ASAP. I hope you liked the pluots, and as a reminder, the seeds I gave you are myrica rubra and they are very fresh.

The tastiest and sweetest mango of the day for me was the Coconut Cream. The sugar bomb of flavor seemed to last forever in my mouth, I just drooled a little thinking about it. Peace.

Hey Nate Dog
Coconut cream was rich and delicious but I had a leftover cc that was one of the best mangos I’ve had this season.
Hi Kiet
You were correct just missed the full can of evaporated milk. I prefer to cut and freeze the canistel however it works ripe off the counter. Canistel is the best pouteria for smoothie by far ..... way better then Mamey and lucuma. It was a lot of fun we enjoyed everyone’s company.
