Sir Prize

During any month of the year California has the best avocados in the world. In this tasting JB wins the day Sir Prize was the most flavorful but less creamy

JF,

Nice tasting selection.
How would the JB have done against a Reed?

Glad you describe how your Sir Prize taste, JF! My first 2 Sir Prize fruits I picked last Dec. didn't taste as good  (-little/no creamy and kind of bland-)  as compared to regular Hass type avocado from the market, I think I may have possibly tasting them about 1-2 days too early; but the fruits are bigger than the average Hass.
So, I guess I can hope the taste would improve as the tree gets more mature...

No Robert  more like 13 months. I have a small tree so the fruits I'm now eating didn't come from my yard. At my moms I have steward, Nimlioh, mantequilla, Sir Prize and Ismael.

Sam

Yours sir prize was picked premature you can start harvesting when they start to change color. It will get as creamy as a hass if you let it hang on the tree until April. I like it less creamy to highlight the nutty flavor but it will easy hang on the tree for 3-4 more months
