WTB: Garcinia seeds

Looking for seeds of Garcinia mangostana, Garcinia madruno, Garcinia forbesii, Garcinia hombroniana, Garcinia livingstonei, etc.

Also looking for Citrus junos.

Garcinia Mangostana is hard one since the seeds are viable for only a few days, I tried planting some seed from some fruits that I found at a market but none have sprouted, so I just decided to by a seedling that came from Hawaii.

Where are you getting that they are only good for a couple days?  Not suggesting it is but if that were the case, nobody  would ever be able to ship seeds that would worthy of planting (its not like they are grown in countries all over the world that the fruit can be harvested and seeds planted next day).  Most likely the problem with your seeds is that they were irradiated.

Yeah, yours probably were irradiated. Happened when I tried to sprout store bought fruits. They may have a short viability, but more than three days. As long as you can keep them in moist, sterile material, they should stay fresh, or even start sprouting over time.
@Garcinia There are some sellers from Indonesia on here. Look at their pages and they will occasionally have Garcinia seeds for sale. If you know when they are in season can can kind of gage when peeps will have them. Others wise you'll have to wait closer to spring and summer when seeds will be more likely to be readily available.

Seeds should not be shipped in moist paper towels.  They really should nit be soaked in them for germination either.  Paler towels are not sterile.

I've germinated lots of stuff in wet paper towels. I do use a fungicide, but even when I didn't I didn't have a problem except with already moldy seeds.

Most garcinias aren't in season at the moment. Keep monitoring this page though, when they come up they generally sell out pretty quickly. As for shipping, I use just famp, not wet, ground peat for recalcitrant seeds. Luc always uses vermiculite when he ships to me. Others have used coir, sawdust, all sorts of things. Every time I've gotten seed in wet paper and they've been in the mail for longer than a couple days they've general been rotting. I never soak seeds except some guavas to help break dormancy.
