I have read and studied many "cures" and other systems for combating hlb. I know you can read anything on the net and I do so regularly. I live in an area that is full of live oaks and my small grove is surrounded by them. I have for many years used tree canopies for many reasons...hlb combating is not one of them. Citrus and their many rootstocks thrive in understory conditions. Trees provide protection from the cold, protection from heat and hail and wind. They provide a leaf much if so desired. The species of tree matters not. I think that I would not go to any great expense to acquire live oak trees and mulch and expect it to combat hlb at this time. I know of no "cure" at this time and I am waiting patiently to find one. Trees are still croaking and groves are still being destroyed.....good luck with your trees. Hope you have a bountiful crop when it is time.
