Help with african pride brix
« on: February 15, 2018, 03:05:08 PM »
Hi All,

I need help with my african pride.  This year it produce a lot of fruits but non of the fruits are sweet.  Last year i had really sweet brix.  Did i over water the tree or did i not fertilize the tree correctly?  There is absolutely no sweetness to my atemoya.  My tree produce beautiful looking fruits and size.  Please help.  How do i increase sugar in my fruit?  Do i need to add iron, episome salts, or cupper?

Hi Mikey, my African pride fruits are all sweet, this year as well as last year's. I read that Calcium plays an important role in contributing the sweetness of fruits. Lately, I've been spreading crushed egg shells under my trees...

See this post. It’s quite an old post but I still do pretty much the same thing except that I also add frequent small applications of Gypsum.
