might be able to find some plants from your nursery center. It's a pretty common house plant here in the bay area, california.

They grow easily from stem cuttings.  I am sure some SFla folk could spare a piece.

They are not tolerant of temps around 32F or below.

They are sold in nurseries under the name split leaf philodendron.

Top Tropicals has them. Are they worth growing? Would they do well and fruit in central FL? How about the taste and the amount of edible pulp on on the fruit?

My guess is you would overpay dearly from TT. 

Will they do well in CFla, depends on your climate.  You will need a lot of space or a tree for them to climb up.  Fruit is tasty and you do get a decent amount per fruit but you cant eat all at once as it usually rilens in sections.
