I ended up getting seeds from Kory too, they are all great, none of them are bored by insects!

Ilama seeds have long viability some of them germinating a year after drop in the ground when in the wild

Did you use gibberilic acid? It seems that ilama are notoriously hard to germinate. I'm hoping mine pop up soon. I have most in pots and a couple in root riot cubes in a humidity dome. I even dug a couple out of the pots, cleaned them off, and threw them in the fridge to stratify. hahaha.

Yes Josh, I did use GBA. I noticed this afternoon that a 4th one is  about to break through. I purchased
10 seeds from Kory, so a 40% germination rate after 50 days is better than I expected.

The seed on the right is about to break through.

Thanks for the info. I got my seeds from him too. I have to buy some gibberellic acid and treat them. Hopefully it isn't too late. I have never used it before.

I soak them for 2-3 days in water, usually wait till they sink or start to get saturated and they all germinate fine

Good information. I only soaked mine for 24 hours.

Got seeds from Koryph in August but just put them in bag with moist spagnum moss last week.  I cracked the shell (with my teeth  :o ::) ???)  of half of them and put the other half into a similar bag (just without any crack/scar to the seedcoat).

Checked on them tonight, and to my surprise, they have already sprouted....didn't notice any difference between the cracked and uncracked seedcoat--  No GA3 used

How long do Ilama take to fruit from seed? It looks like 3-5 years per the www. I sprouted some seeds I got. The seeds had been soaked for a few days and then treated with GA over night. I didn't expect the seeds to germinate and was happy when a couple came up.

I have a one seedling.  It is in the ground and it flowered in 1.5 years from seed at around 5 ft tall.  Unfortunately, the flowers opened a few days apart and I did not have ilama pollen to pollinate the flowers.  The tree flowered again last year, again no pollen.  I am still waiting on flowers this year but spider mites are hitting it hard so the tree is not happy. This year, my other ilama, a grafted Genova is flowering enough for me to pollinate itself and will probably be done by the time the seedling starts flowering.

I treated the seeds with GA at 350 ppm soaked for 24 hours and 19 of the 20 seeds germinated. Ilama seems to be the strongest growing annona under the conditions here so far. I have one tree from another batch that reached six feet in 11 months (Guillermo seedling). I have had to cut it back often. No flowers yet though.

Ilama season again!

Guillermo ilama seeds available again, this tree consistently yields 40-60 fruits a year, tastes like raspberry cheesecake. $1.5 each plus shipping, minimum order 10 seeds. Sales out the US are at your own risk. Sometimes they make it and sometimes they get sent back.

I have Annona diversifolia seeds for sale. They are from the "Guillermo" cultivar I believe. The tree produces 50 to 100 fruits a year, some larger than a grapefruit or softball. Price is $1.5 per seed with a minimum order of 10 seeds. Email me if you are interested.
This is an old picture but the fruit is from the same tree.

Hi, Koryph

Are seeds available from this tree again?

Thanks
