I checked today and soil is good.  After I thought about it a bit I thought it was that too but I checked and soil is nice and fluffy in the top foot of my soil.   Tomorrow I dig a little deeper to see.

This started happening about a month ago when the new growth started emerging.    I thought it was maybe iron so I gave it some chelated iron about 3 weeks ago.  It didn't seem like it was working.  So next I that maybe magnesium so I gave it epsom salt about a week ago.  I then noticed even the clovers underneath the tree started looking the same.   The two longan trees next to it is fine even the clovers underneath the longans are fine.   Lie always your help is always appreciated.

Yeah online I see only 1 or two that looks like my Brother's tree but I also see alot of the ones that are skinner and longer profile.  That's why I wanted to see .  I was aware of ndm having a couple variations out there but was aware it was the same for M.C

I saw a couple articles that state if you prune a fig tree it would send  more of its energy into ripening the fruit faster.  Does this apply to cherimoya also?   My cherimoya is a mature tree and I usually prune down at least 4ft every year.  Seeing some post from the more experienced growers don't sell scion when they have fruit hanging I assumed that it wasn't wise to prune mine while there are fruit hanging. As always any input is much appreciated.

It should be ready to pick now.  Thry are tasting amazing.  Having one with corn ship and hot sauce for breakfast today.

How long should it ripen on the counter after you pick it?

How do you know if they are ready to pick? I still got a couple hanging from my first crop last year.  I had 1 a week ago and it was kinda salty.  Not as creamy as a couple of them that dropped in mid July.

Pictured is a cherimoya flower I already hand pollinated.  Once it opened up can I use the pollen from the same flowe to pollinate other flowers?

Yeah I mulch it pretty heavily.  I have a big one in the front that's more exposed to the elements then my small one but the big one doesn't have any issues.

That's why I figure it might be a nutrients issue.

Tropical Fruit Buy, Sell & Trade / Re: Free Sweetheart lychee Scions
« on: March 23, 2022, 03:37:41 PM »
Unfortunately I need to cut back my tree as the branches aren't growing right. I'll cut the scions this week. So yeah let me know if you want some. I purchased the tree few years ago directly from PIN. Scions are 1/4 inch thick, maybe even more thick........ok yes I'm asking you pay for shipping $10. If you would like to throw in a bit extra to cover for my time that would be swell. Or we can do a trade.
I'm interested in scions of soursop, jaboticaba, grumichama, cinnamon apple. And many more so please feel free to make offers.
Why are the branches not growing right?
yes need to breathe more. Air flow is like a 100 on a test. It makes everyone happy. Yeah the rollup sides aren't here yet so all the trees are floppy. $400 freight shipping my butt. I'll go pick it up like a real person.

Shortened version -

do you have pictures of the tree?  they don't grow like traditional upright trees.  It's like a Hemispherical big bush.  if you want a traditional shape tree you will need to let it fill out and prune off the bottom half.   it takes about 4-6 years for it to properly fill out
