Do these overwinter for you? Mine are fruiting heavily in pots. What to do with them as winter approaches?

i bought 5 small pepino plants from Andrewsgarden, Belgium, the plants grew big, but there were very few flowers, hardly more than 5 flowers from all 5 plants! And even those few flowers did not turn to fruit, not even one fruit. I cannot understand why. Do they have to grow 2 or 3 years old before they set fruit? Overwinter first? Near the Pepinos i planted two Lulo (solanum quitoense), one of them grew majestic, the other medium sized, the bigger one produced many flowers but all fell before setting fruit; the smaller one did not even flower.
Maybe, does it have to do with direct sunlight? The Pepinos receive indirect sunlight, but hardly any direct sunlight; the Lulo needs shade to grow anyway.
Any tips on growing Pepinos and Lulo?

Kevin, they should be fine under the oaks.
Put a few in the ground ! And back em up by making some more baby clones.

Giannhs, try giving them some direct morning or late afternoon sun for better fruit set.
Easy to clone so make more plants and keep trialing where they fruit best for you.
The Lulo have a pollinator issue here, they started getting pollinated when I planted more tree tomatoes and then this big bumblebee started visiting and thats the pollinator.

I planted mine out once they rooted and put them into large wide pots (5 gallon) with tomato cages. It seemed like when they rested on the cage they fruited? Dunno.

My pepinos are in full hard sun at 2200' elevation. I think they like sun.

Yes! Caging or trellising these prevent slug damage and help them ripen and color up properly.
I accidentally grew some up Feijoa bushes and its been a great companion plant with the pepino fruits protected and slightly shaded up in the Feijoas.

From what all people say, it was a mistake to plant Pepinos in a shady place and that without trellis or support; there are no slugs, but the Pepinos have a difficulty standing up by themselves as i saw. Pardon me if it is a stupid question, how do you clone the Pepinos?

Hi Giannhs, Jonah ships about 8" long cuttings. Just stick them in some soil maybe 1 /3 their length deep and water in. They root very easily. D

Mine arrived a day or 2 ago. Looking real good! Are there 2 varieties? There was a bunch tied together, and one solo stick. Wondering if they are different.

Thanks!

Surprise me today, I think I planted the cutting around Aug/Sept and it is flowering.  Very easy root from cutting.

Looking great! Are your plants protected or out in the open?

No cold protection, just leave it outside of the backyard.

These are certified fire and delicious. I started growing them last year and they are super easy to root, super easy to grow, and tasty / productive.

After 4 months of flowering and dropping.  I gave up and neglected it, but it surprises me with this one today's morning.
