i bought 5 small pepino plants from Andrewsgarden, Belgium, the plants grew big, but there were very few flowers, hardly more than 5 flowers from all 5 plants! And even those few flowers did not turn to fruit, not even one fruit. I cannot understand why. Do they have to grow 2 or 3 years old before they set fruit? Overwinter first? Near the Pepinos i planted two Lulo (solanum quitoense), one of them grew majestic, the other medium sized, the bigger one produced many flowers but all fell before setting fruit; the smaller one did not even flower.
Maybe, does it have to do with direct sunlight? The Pepinos receive indirect sunlight, but hardly any direct sunlight; the Lulo needs shade to grow anyway.
Any tips on growing Pepinos and Lulo?
