My Honey KIss Mango tree has leaf tip burn from the cheap store fertilizer I used. 

The tree is 4 years in the ground and 6’ tall. 

Is osmocote a good alternative?  I was thinking I need to go to something with more slow release nitrogen.

I am at the point where several of my trees are 12 feet tall or higher. I am just wondering if it would be more efficient to use a gas powered hedge trimmer on a pole instead of trimming by hand on my ladder. Has anyone found this method to be more efficient or not?

I have read online that air layering tends to be done in the spring. 

Has anyone had luck air layering lychee at this time of year?

A couple of years ago, Adam sold me a few white stripes pineapple plants.  The first one has finally fruited.  Will cut open and taste tommorow.

A friend has asked if anyone can help identify these two mango varieties.  He bought the trees a few years ago from a local guy in the area who sells fruit trees on the side. 

The trees are grafted but my friend never got the variety names.

My Red Lady papaya plants were thriving through this past summer and fall.  Many large leaves.  Lots of sweet fruit.  This was their first year of production.

During the past 2-3 months, the number of leaves on the plants has decreased, and only a small amount of small leaves remain, at the top of the plants.  Fruit ripening and production has slowed substantially, and the few ripe fruit we get are mostly bland.

Is this just typical winter performance?  Or have these plants just passed their prime?

My Choquette Avocado tree has been in the ground almost 2 years now.  It was purchased as a 15 gallon "Simmonds" avocado tree, and turned out to be mislabeled.  I was happy, since I already had too many things fruiting in mid summer.  Choquette will produce in November through January, filling in an otherwise quiet time of year.  Plus, the fruit are very large and the variety is productive. 

The tree is about 10 feet tall and it set lots of fruit this year, but I only left a few on there, so the energy could be directed toward tree growth. 

I had intended to leave this fruit on a bit longer, but I found that the fruit had dropped to the ground this afternoon on its own.  It is already slightly soft.  Will only be a day or two more before its ready to eat. 

It is about 7.5" long.  I will weigh it tommorow.  My guess is its a bit under 2 pounds.

That's my precious 2 year old daughter, Jade, who was able to hold onto it but not without some difficulty.

I'm considering the following varieties, all of which I have cuttings of.  However, I'd like to put 3 or 4 cuttings per trellis, so a couple have to go.

Any input or recommendations are appreciated!
