If I remember right the ones under the fruit are the slips, the ones around the plants are suckers and the ones that come up from the base of the plant are the ratoon.

Please take a few seconds to google before asking a question like this. If you searched "pineapple plant parts" you would have had your answer much more quickly.

Was this really necessary?

If you read the posting you will notice that i am asking if these are new plants or new fruit.  Sorry to waste space on the forum.  Will think twice before deciding to post again....!

Googling it doesn't do others any good who see your Q and have never seen this.

Sheehan

I'm not a newbie here.  I was just hoping someone with more experience could definitively tell me if these were new Slips / suckers or fruit.

Sorry if I jumped to react to your posting.  Its just that responses like that make me want to continue to just lurk here vs post

You edited your post. You did not originally ask if it was new plants or new fruit.

Yes it was. People are constantly making posts that can be answered by doing a little bit of research on their own.

Googling it doesn't do others any good who see your Q and have never seen this.

A better way he could have posted after doing research is making an informative post showing pics of what he identified to be slips and suckers and then asking if they could be fruit or he could have just identified that they are slips and suckers and then waited to see if by some off chance they were not slips and suckers and instead fruit.

Isn't that what this forum is for?

Dr. Google isn't exactly reliable, and full of many opinions.

People, like this guy, ask questions here so they know they are getting more accurate and legitimate information.

Crawling their back when they ask questions certainly isn't going to help them in their quest for tropical knowledge.

In life, there is only 1 stupid question you can ask:  it's the question you don't ask.

There are redundant posts everyday.  Yet I will gladly reread redundancy than suffer through the confusion that is "googlepedia."

Attract members.  Don't push them into lurk mode by making them afraid to ask a question for fear of the seemingly more educated putting on the irritability helmet to shield against the alleged "lesser than" complex.

/end rant
