White Pirie. Sunrise is more aromatic and less piney

How precocious is White Pirie in South Florida?  Is disease resistance an issue?

White Piri produced its first crop relatively quickly for me. It is *highly* susceptible to powdery mildew and has a poor male/female flower ratio, tending to set fruit almost exclusively on the distillate ends of its panicles. I suspect anthracnose would be a problem for it the iinterior. The eating quality is excellent and I like it even better than regular pirie/Bombay.

We had our first crop of White Piri, Puneet and Neelkarin in August 2016 they were all excellent. The trees are still young but we didn't notice any fungal issues in fact WP had an extended season and we had fruits for AZ's cherimoya tasting in December. Puneet & Neelkarin were the favorites for their complexity and excellent flavor for us Bombay and WP we almost identical.

You know ice cream mango is supposed to be a Julie seedling but to me it tastes more like Bombay but fiberless. I don't know if anyone else would agree with that but it is excellent.

Are you only interested in flavour or is texture also important? The Alphanso mango out of India has pulp with a similar texture to Bombay, being almost peach-like, but not sure about the flavour.

Flavor is important to me.

Alphanso is probably the most esteemed mango in all of India, which speaks to its flavour. See the following Wikipedia article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alphonso_(mango)

Alphonso is more hype than fact, reason being 90% gets exported out at very high prices so what is left folks brag about how good that is, mostly locals, no different than folks buying Louis Vitton purses and feel good, there is nothing about it than the name and high price tag.

I have eaten the top Indian mangoes and grew up eating them in India. Kesar hands down beats Alphonso, then there is langra, imam pasand, dusseri, bengalpali, gulab khas, and few others that compete equally or even beat Alphonso, which also has spongy tissue problem.
