I have some small fruit on the tree now. Last year I had 250 fruit
and didn't thin and they didn't size up. So far it looks like I have
under 50 fruit.

I have heard some people say that the Eugenia calycina is actually a
Eugenia involucrata and it is not a separate species. I can't keep up
and there are always some who want to join and then some who want

Eugenia calycina for a total of 6 different trees. My original COR flowers
heavy but only sets about 20% of it's flowers. It was flattened by Irma and

more trees flowering would increase production? The Eugenia calycina I have
is a winner. Every flower sets and the tree started producing 2 years ago at
2 yrs old. It is 6 foot tall and 8' foot wide now. The fruit is not huge but
I really like it. It reminds me of a cherry.

It almost has fruit year round and the fruit is typical. It is sweet with some
acid. I prefer to eat them a little green I like the acid balance. If you eat them
more yellow then they are more sweet. I have a very sweet type in my yard
but it produces twice a year. This one in the park has mature fruit now and is
flowering.

The whites are ripening and I harvested a nice handful today. The reds I have are starting to
germinate.

Shipping is slower these days I would think scions would be risky. Cuttings wrapped in
damp paper towels might work. PM me and tell me what country you are from and what

Hi, i write here instead of pm so as to keep the post high on the list. I m in Greece, interested for one or a few Casimiroa scions any variety as long as they are self fertile and make relatively big fruit.

Currently Greece is not on the no fly list but I would wait until shipping gets back to normal.
Our domestic shipping is taking 2X as long as usual.

I really like the way you tape up the scions… Nice and professional!
Job well done.

I already have the Sugar Apple seeds in damp paper towels in a zip lock bag.
Also… Already grafted the Zills, Calycinas and Big Red. (Attempted to I should say!).
I noticed Sugar Apple wood is a lot softer than Eugenia wood… much easier to split and shave.
Pitombas grafted well too.
I’ll let you know if I am sucessful.

So far so good.
Also... almost every one of the Calycina scions have taken.
As well... had good luck with the Zill Dark Suriname Cherries and the Pitomba scions.

That will work. I don't soak for 3 days prior to putting in between damp paper towels though.
I just put 4 Big eye seeds I am germinating in between paper towels and 2 have germinated so far in
about a week.
