Dug mine out last year.  It was getting too large very fast and fruit was nothing to look forward to.  Also messy and thorny.  I'm limited on space though.  If i had an entire mountain maybe I would keep it...  It attracted bees better than anything and it is a nitrogen fixer.

Thanks Mugenia!

Found some plants shooting up out of a pot. Obviously something I planted. Cannot figure what they are.

Anyone know what these might be?

What did this turn out to be?

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: What are the best varieties of wax jambu?
« on: September 03, 2020, 06:31:53 AM »
I got this green wax jambu from Ong nursery and it took me 7 years to fruit.  But it is worth the wait.

I believe I got the same green long bell shape wax jambu from Ong about 4 years ago but mine are so bland. I was hoping they would get better with time. Are yours sweet?

Hey Brad.  Please put me down on the wait list for one of these.
Thanks.

I attended an informative lecture this month at CRFG regarding this issue.  This guy runs a nonprofit and may be able to provide some more information tailored for your region.  Here in SoCal, it seems white clover is a good candidate for ground cover and a "living mulch". Many benefits in doing what your trying. You may want to reach out to him.

His website below is ...

I just picked up a Carmen Hass from Four Wind Growers for $35. Recently learned about it and it seemed liked a good choice. Tree arrived in perfect condition.  You may want to look into it.  I've never seen or tried the fruit.

My Lamb Hass grows nicely and has produced great fruit in the past. Unfortunately it has been dropping fruit the last 2 years in a row.
