Clothespins are good for approach grafts.
« on: July 25, 2016, 08:52:43 PM »
In muttering swear words under my breath doing a few approach grafts the other day I happened to see a clothespin on the ground near me and the heavens opened and my job was made easier. I can't be the first to have done this, but I hadn't ever seen it done before, so I figured I'd share it with y'all. Hope this is as helpful to others here as it was to me.

I used clothesline as well on my Lychee grafted onto longan. It works like a charm. The graft later died in a heatwave but it held for a couple of months.

Yeah, I've got some of those little 1.5 and 2mm silicone clips they use for tube grafting tomatoes. I've been meaning to try it with really small annona grafts, just haven't gotten around to it beyond one or two that failed.
