New mango leaves dropping off
« on: June 04, 2019, 11:31:28 PM »
Hi guys,

My keitt mang had some lighter than normal newly flushed leaves. They were smaller than they should have been and ultimately fell off after a weekish of hanging on. Cause for concern?

Were they rosetting? Could be a Zn deficiency.

If so, that is unfortunate, you can try foliar feeding Zinc Sulfate when actively flushing, otherwise it's hard to fix.

Thanks for both responses. I’m very hesitant of overwatering it. It’s newly planted, and I lost one last year to what may have been overwatering but I’m not sure. Either way, there is heavy pressure form a neighboring jasmine vine and palm tree, so perhaps it is the water. I gave it a good drink and the leaves appear to be a bit more lateral than they were yesterday. The branch which dropped its flush didn’t ever appear to have healthy leaves. Smaller and lighter than normal. Perhaps just a bad set?
