Tropical Fruit Discussion / Got my achacha/achachairu!!!! Now I need help with planting and care please!

It's here! Beautiful little plant.  I got it from Montoso PR, it came nicely packaged and still moist.  I'm very happy with their customer service and product!

Now I don't want to kill it!!!!! Should I plant in ground right away? In a pot? What type of soil?
Any help with care is greatly appreciated.

I love getting the kent mangoes in later season in Robert is Here but the price is ridiculous so I bought the tree. I had it for 2 1/2 on the ground, 6-7 feet tall and it's never set fruit.  But that's ok I can wait.... What's getting me frustrated is that I have to spray it sor anthracnose so often.  It is the only one of my mangoes that has this problem. Is this a normal thing for Kent? Could it be the location I planted it?

 Somewhere in the south Florida region. I found seeds but I will like to purchase an already established tree. Could be young, I just don't do very well with seeds yet.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / How close to the house can I plant a carambola/star fruit ?

Hi guys I have a spot on the south side of the house that has space for one tree.  I have a key lime and a bannanas and they are both thriving on that side.  But there is plenty of space for another fruit tree.  I have a carambola and a sugar apple in 3 gal. pots.  Would the roots of either of these be bad too close to the house? What would you reccomend?

Tropical Fruit Discussion / What tropcal fruit tree to plant in mostly shade?

I have a spot along the north side of my house that needs some tropical fruits! Well it's complete shade during winter and like 5-6 hours during the summer.  In addition is very damp as the a/c water goes there.  Initially I thought the jaboticabas, but they did not like the winter full shade.  What other recconendations do you guys have?

Tropical Fruit Discussion / How large will a Pickering mango tree get?

I currently have one in ground and another one potted.  I will like to add another one right next to the one in ground but the largest I've seen are just a bit larger and wider than mine.  I wonder if Amy of you could share pics of more mature Pickerings.

Here is my the in ground of course adorned by inpatients because she is the princess (I know I lost my mind).  Followed by a dwarfed Glenn (that's another story) and a Carrie in the end.





And here is the potted one.  Their growth habit seems different.

Hi guys, another newbie question if you don't mind :)
Some time ago I went on vacation and came back to a dead lancetilla, I forgot about it and during our heavy rains it came back.  Now, I think is the rootstock.  I got it at Pine Island, is it this turpentine?

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Tree Spacing; Can I get away with planting more?

I have a relatively large backyard, however, I had to compromise in what zones I can plant. This is the north side, I have a russell avocado (so far slow grower) in the middle a Kent mango and then an Alano sapodilla.  They get very good amount of sun in the afternoon (pics in am).  Can I get away with planting something in between these trees in the same row? Should I just let them be? I was thinking of star fruit or another avocado. How about two coconut palms?
