after the comp closes I can see a flood of everyone's "other" containerised favourites. I have a few myself.

You can enter a photo!

I entered one for you...but u can change it!

If there was a contest for best home made greenhouse, John would win it every year. Truly awesome.

Hello all! My submission: Alano Sapodilla about 3 years old. Holding 5 fruit, I picked one about a week ago and it was not quite ripe. This is my second year of fruit (2 last year) and I'm still having a heck of time deciding when they are ripe. This is my first time trying to post a photo so I hope it works.

Not sure what your prize money is invested in but seems like a very nice return over a short time. Care to share your investment strategy?

well Harry...funny you should ask...I have devised a formula for the contest

(N x Q + √S)/T = X

where:

N= the number of contestants that enter
Q= the quality/size of each photo (measured in MB)
T= the total number of posts the each contestant has
S= the total number of species of plants submitted in photos

to find X=the total cash prize

(just kidding...I've just got a little extra money I've saved up from selling seeds...wanted to give something back to the community  :P ;D)

Algebra was not my strong suit.  I was much more a geometry kind of guy.  Thank God I don't have to boggle my mind with your formula. Thanks for your generous spirit.  It is kind of you to give back to the community.......and fun also.  :)

Marula 2 years old picture taken in Feb, trunk has thickened significantly by now but looks ugly and totally leafless. I miss summer :'(
They are quite pretty trees I'm keen to keep this as a giant hopefully fruiting bonsai under 7ft including pot

BTW.....does a containerized plant that has grown into the ground qualify? I would think not.  I have some impressive trees that are still in their pots due to neglect and laziness on my part.

Being that the tree has roots in the ground, it would be disqualified (no longer being bound to a container )

My son loves your logo...whenever he comes over to the computer, he points at it every time it comes up while scrolling down.  I would be upset you're brainwashing him, but that would just mean more rare Brazilian fruit in my golden years....so it's all good!

This tree was totally grown outdoors with the lowest temps being around 38degrees F this winter for one night. It only lo0st a few leaves since we had a mild winter.

I gotta start a team of amateur growers, and sponsor them like skateboarders/surfers.

Yup....just like the Space Race-- you don't want the person who fruits durian/rambutan/etc. first in the USA (I see you HI :P) to be wearing a competitor's shirt when the news crew shows up.  FFF needs to be there, when it all goes down.

Even more impressive, I've lost them at 50F, you might be onto something there. Never heard of them surviving that low. You would  be a perfect contender for the first FFF sponsorship program.
