Seeds arrived and treated with GA3, around 20% sink in water and have potted these first. I will post later if any sprout. Someone stole my akadama soil so I resorted to planting in a pumice and peat moss/akadama mix. A friend here in Thailand has succesfully fruited Marolo and recomended using pumice over akadama soil in Thailands humid climate.

Hi guys,

It's been 3 weeks since I planted my seeds in a pumice mix and my wife has told me she can see signs of life already. As I mentioned in my previous post, my akadama soil was stolen and had to resort to pumice. I soaked the seeds for 36 hours using GA3, took them out of the solution for another 48 hours (I had to source new planting mix) before soaking them again in water overnight before planting. I thought the delay in planting may have been a problem but have read elsewhere it may be beneficial. Im offshore atm, will post a pic once home if the mrs can keep them alive!

Great Calum!!!!

be careful for the first months,, it needs to be covered from direct sun. Only after some weeks you can expose directly. Take care,

Giampaolo

I have good news and bad news about these seeds. The good news is my ordered arrived quickly, the seeds were in good shape and some germinated quickly. The bad news... well, I'll get to that in a moment.

Annona coriacea:

Annona crassiflora:

Duguetia lanceolata:

I grew each of the three species in three separate tubs. The Duguetia and Crassiflora seeds have not yet germinated, but the tub of Coriacea seeds came up very quickly. As the seedlings grew I was surprised to see two very different looking plants in that tub. I asked some friends who have grown Annona coriacea before, and they said neither one of these look like Coriacea. Perhaps they are Annona squamosa, Annona montana, or some other common Annonas.

I don't think Giampaolo is dishonest, but his friend in Brazil is either a scammer or just very sloppy.
