What fruits are in season from now until Spring in South Florida?
« on: September 29, 2016, 07:25:03 PM »
My vietnamese jaina dragonfruit just gave me it's first ripe fruit so I'm curious what else fruits around this time. I know some avocados, sapodilla, and canistel will be in season now/soon but what else is there?

Jackfruit can go year round. I think mamey can as well. Soursop? Dragonfruit is still going. Papaya. If you dope your longans with potassium chlorate you can get fruit any time you want.

Nice,
If I could actually enjoy canistel I would plant it.
I have access to more than enough sapodillas but that's another great choice.

I thought dragon fruit is normal during mango season, if there are varieties that fruit outside of mango season id be interested.

Id also highly recommended a good starfruit. The good ones are really tasty, fruit twice a year, offseason, easy to keep compact, and ridiculously productive.

the swallowtails have already found my tangelo and I'm scared of canker/ HLB so I just put it in a bad spot, but it still gets 4 hours of direct sun
