Wow plentiful of flowers :o, even if only a portion of those flowers bear fruits, there will be hundreds.

Beautiful.
Looks like a temperate cherry blooming in the spring.
Nice!

Yes, I hope it gives us a lot of fruits! here we are lucky: they never got the fruit fly, so we eat them all!

I have other varieties planted on the garden, one of them has very big leaves and it is supposed to be black, from Portugal seeds.

Do you grow eugenia uniflora?

Indeed. I have been collecting as many different types as I can find.
But where I live we have cold winters... so all my plants are in containers.

So far the Uniflora species is my favorite.
Here's a shot of my 2017 Black Stars:

Hey... I think that's me reflected in the left fruit.
No fruit flies here... just birds and cockroaches.

Great, nice fruits, they look juicy and tasty, can you show the size of the leaves?

For instance my big leaves black one (didnt fruited yet) are 8 to 9 cm long:

while the more common red type has 5 or 6 cm long leaves:

WOW!!!! She is a beauty Marcos! Congrats!
At least here, looks like that after a rainy and more cold time (this year, from may to august), uniflora can flowers much more.
My red var flowered a lot too:

Click over the photos to see them in full size

The dwarf var (from cerrado) also flowered:

I also have a black var(with big leafs) that will take at least one year before to fruit.

Beautiful plants Cassio, I hope those fruits would be tasty! I think that pitanga do cerrado is a very interesting species as it fruits faster than others, it is native to Argentina too, but I didnt found it here yet.

Today our red one is in her peak of flowering:

it will not get better than this ;)

Looks like my Black Star is winding down it's blooming just in time for the next hurricane.
It should track right over us on Sunday.
We need the rain.
