Best Mamey Sapote cultivars

If one were going to add 3 new mamey sapote cultivars to their collection, which cultivar would they be, and why?  (South Miami-Dade area) Thank you.

Do you have any now?  Lorito seems to be well-regarded.  Check with the Laras.  I think they're mamey sapote experts.

Based on flavor of the varieties I have tried, here is my ranking:
1) Lorito
2) Green Sapote - TREC (close enough to mamey)
3) Pace
4) Pantin (may not have tasted a prime example)
5) Viejo
6) Magana

Sepeda(Cepeda?) Especial is rumored to be excellent.

I have 7 trees in my yard in the ground over 4 years, pantin, pace, lorito, Viejo, Sepeda Especial, and TREC GS.  I have only harvested 3 pantin fruit. Lorito has the nicest appearance and is the best grower. Pace and TREC are the slowest. Next year, I will probably harvest around 30 fruit.

I have a 7ft tall Pace, no fruit or flowers yet. I also have a small Cepeda Especial based on others reviews. But given how well you regard Lorito, I would love to try growing that one! I have a bunch of mamey seedlings for grafting. Is your Lorito tree large enough to harvest scions off it, and if so would you be willing to sell me a few? Thanks!

I have a Pace tree that was planted as small 3 gallon tree in October of 2011, while my Pantin was planted as a 7 gallon tree in November of 2012 and my Viejo as a 3 gallon tree in 2014. None of them have provided any fruit. The Pace has technically fruited, but it popped off all of it's fruit. My Pantin is actually more vigorous and larger than my Pace. The Viejo, which is the youngest, has set three fruit this season and now has only one that is the size of a golf ball and seems to have a more spreading growth habit. I took some pics today.

What about "Papa"? I have this Cuban variety in my yard. Seems to be very slow/compact grower and from I have read and heard, it's an excellent Mamey Sapote.

I know this is older, but why no Key West Mamey?  Had one a little while ago and wow, it was really good.

Is more than one required for good productivity?

Could good varieties like those mentioned be cross bred to create different varieties?

I have three trees growing in my yard all about 4 years old now from 3 gallon containers, Pace
Lorito,Viejo..the Lorito produced about 20 fruit at its three-and-a-half-year mark and they grew to about the size of golf balls and then because the lack of water they all dropped. The other two trees have been producing lots of flowers but no fruit yet. All seem to be very good  growing trees, but struggled the first year and a half establishing themselves,  the Viejo is a solid one third larger and I expect it to fruit next spring.. they're all very good eating quality

These are three register Mamey varieties soon to be patent. They are superior to any mamey found in South Florida. I’ve show many pix of what I call Mamey Colorado which is from Yucatán. The state of Yucatán is the only state in Mexico that has production year round. The winter crop is light nevertheless  of excellent quality.

I’ve located a few trees here in Miami. Need to determine more info about it. Cuban No. 1 seems neglected. Popular in the 70s. Thanks for the info.

Best Mamey is Mamey Colorado from Yucatán we have it here in SoCal. Here is SoCalmy fav.
