a/ Uống thêm nước

An avocado fruiting area in England? That's a new one on me.  Regardless, the tree is likely planted from seed and not a grafted variety that has been selected for its production and quality.  A fourteen foot seedling is not that large of a tree for a seedling.  Avocados generally need a cross pollinator to get the best production and different trees need particular types of cross pollinators.  There is a whole line of scientific discussion about type A and type B pollinators which you can easily find on a google search.  I am not sure that this is still the current thinking but it was considered scientific fact at one time. If this is a seed planted tree there is the possibility that it is just an inferior or non producer.  It also is possible that it just needs to get some additional maturity before it cuts loose with production. It is not unheard of for a seedling avocado to not produce without a couple decades of maturing. Too many variables to say anything conclusively.

Avocado trees also piss me off. I have a big old tree planted by the previous owner. It has no flower for years. So, I went out and bought another one. Don't know how long that one will produce fruits either.

I also have an avocado that won't fruit and, in my case, I think it is the result of boron deficiency because the tree shows other evidence of that and I've had it in other plants on my property.  The avocado is a grafted variety (Lamb Hass) and plenty big and old to be fruiting.  It flowers well but sets very few fruit which fall off when still tiny. It has B types grafted on, which flower, so I don't think pollination is the problem.  I've been cautiously adding boron both to the soil and via foliar sprays.  We'll see if that solves the problem.

Cut it off low to the ground and graft to selected shoots that arise.  Did this last year and now have 9 fine fruit hanging on a Holiday, Sir Prize and Ardith.  I dropped quite a few too after bloom set and all of the Pinkertons.

Being that you already have a very extensive root system you'll quickly have a new vigorous tree that will set a lot of fruit quickly.

Sir Prize fruit, August.

I too add boron about a month before bloom.  I use Solubor albeit a very light dose.

I had an unusual big drop of golfball size Reeds this June - July, typical summer drop but it got a little out of hand.  Don't think I gave the tree the water it wanted.  Live and learn......

I was at a friend's house this weekend when I noticed her avocado tree:

I was very intrigued, and was preparing to offer her all sorts of vegetable trades, when she disappointed me by telling me that it has never fruited in the 10 years since she's lived here. The tree was already here when she moved in, so she doesn't know the variety or age.

The tree looks reasonably healthy, and it's flowering right now. It's about 14' from ground to the tip.

What are the most common reasons that an avocado tree won't fruit?

This area is definitely avocado-friendly, as I have two neighbors about 1/2 mile from each other that both have heavy bearing trees.

This friend is a 3 mile crow flight from those other two trees, but it's a very similar climate.

If it's a seedling (i.e., ungrafted) tree, that's not too surprising.  A lot of seedling avocado trees in Northern California are huge and don't produce much or at all, and there are others that do produce a ton of bad tasting fruit.  You might prune back the tree and graft new shoots with named varieties.

I'm also curious -- where in England are you able to fruit Avocados?

Are they getting enough sun and water? A 14' tree should be at least 3 years old and a fairly fast-growing variety.
My avos (Holiday, Wurtz and Lula, all grafted) are heavily mulched, get minor elements and potassium sulfate fertilizer, garden lime and eggshells. Two years since I planted them, and all three fruited this year (wasn't expecting fruit for another couple of years).
Don't know how to test for boron, so I just resort to the minor elements. They are all planted on raised beds, and the mulch is piled up till it reaches as high as the raised beds, and is about 8 feet diameter.

Good on ya!   That's the way to do it.
