Mini Guava
Galka:
Does anybody else grow the Mini Guava? If so, is it in ground or pot. Could you share some pictures and your experience?
knlim000:
why grow this when you can grow a larger variety.
I prefer the thai/vietname/asian green crunchy variety. This mini looks too much work to pick for eating.

I just don't like Thai guavas or any crunchy type of guavas. I don't eat apples and don't care much about them. I don't think there's too much work for picking small fruits of any kind. :) This particular guava tastes good to me, this is why I grow it.

That's a beautiful guava! I'm with you I love guava for the taste, how's the taste of this mini guava? How big does it get? Also where did you get it?

The taste is like a pink guava, pleasant. The seeds are small, so you just eat it all. The size is like a strawberry guava and the tree will be covered with flowers. You can see the flower buds in the picture, it's flowering for a second time this year and this is the first year it started to bare fruit. It may get even better in taste next year. The tree is small and it's 3rd year I am growing it in the container. I bought it online, don't remember the name of the nursery, sorry. It was a little seedling, at least it looked like a seedling, in a 4 inch pot.
