Best place to purchase 1/2/5 gallon starter pots
« on: February 14, 2018, 07:45:15 PM »
So, after pricing out 1 gallon, 2 gallon and 5 gallon pots at Home Depot, there's no way I'm going to buy my pots there as the price is ridiculous.

What's the best deal you've found on getting these, and should I be looking more to purchase fabric ones.  Mainly for being used for starting Mango and Avocados.

Also, while I"m thinking about it, what's everybody thoughts on the best place to get 30/40/50 gallon pots as well.  A few of the mango's that I started 2 years ago are due to be transplanted from the 10 gallon ones their in now.

Thanks

The best prices I have found are at Diamond R. I don't know if they carry
1 gallons though.

Plant / Tree nurseries in your area usually sell various sizes. Some give them away for free if you ask.

No where to plant it ...but at least I got it. ;)

AM Leonard sells Rootmaker pots in those sizes, including 3 gls. I like them and so does the tree's.

+1 for Craigslist. I found some at the local flea market via Craigslist.

Landscaping companies or locally owned nurseries (if you can actually find one anymore) have always worked for me. The one near me charges $1 a pot and has stacks and stacks of them.

I go to hydroponic shops to buy pots. They carry root maker, air-pot, smart pots, and regular pots. You should call to ask before you visit.

Thanks for the information. Unfortunately, 15 gallon pots are the biggest size I've seen.

Diamomd R has 7,10,15,25 gallon pots cheaper then the used ones on craiglist in my area.
