Wild red mulberry question

I have a volunteer mulberry tree coming up.
Of course they are native to my area. My question is, does it need a cross pollinator?

I have a single but its mutistemmed ( so might not be just a single individual)red mulberry growing in my fence and it makes fruits.
On the otther side of the fence  at lets say ,100 meters distance ,i have a white mulberry.
I let them for the birds,especially the blackbirds.

Good deal. There are lots of mulberry trees around, not super close but maybe I’ll be ok.

i have a red mulberry tree at my seaside home that does not have any other mulberry in the nearby area and still always produces fruit

another question about the same tree. I haven't really googled yet, i thought i would start here

if I cut this tree back dramatically, to 12-18 inches, would it not essentially turn it into more of a bush (with subsequent continued pruning or pinching of branch tips)?

Just not sure how well it would respond to trying to force to a bush form.

The tree was really stretching for light so it is about 6 feet tall and very thin, with all branching at the top. I've cleared the area so it will have more sun and presumably be more compact.

Mein also grow tall and thin .The red one is maybe 20 feet tall and just 3 inches thick.I helped the tree by fixing it with a metal wire on the fence but in case you want more compact growth ,you can pollard them.
The white mulberry is also that tall and was cut at the fence height ,5 feet tall manny times.
