A few comments on the Mexican Garcinia :
I only have one growing and fruiting in my orchard ( plenty around , so why should I waste the space )
This trees was topped ( by mistake ) 2 years ago and is now a little over 2 meters , still fruited .
Leaf size is between 6 and 8 inch , just like Ed's.
Average fruit size 3 to 31/2 inch , most of you must have seen the pics that I posted in other groups comparing achachairu and Mex. Garcinia .
A Guatemalan friend growing achachairu visited 2 years ago and we were able to compare taste between the 2 , 4 out of the 5 tasters preferred the Mex.Garc.
When very ripe the fruit is sweet and also the skin is edible at that point . We make a very nice " lemonade " from the skin , blended in water a little sugar added let soak in the fridge for one night ,strain and ready...
After observing wild trees I believe they are dioecious .
When in flower you can smell their perfume from far away , lots of different insects visit the flowers .
Very drought resistant and a no problem tree pest wise.
I think I covered most of it .
@ Tomas : is your 20 year old tree fruiting ?

Just my own experience : had more or less 20 fruits each time in 2 different locations - countries . No violets !!
2,5 - 3,5 years to fruit ??? Seed germination takes about 1 year . Good job man !!
