Chupa-chupa tree help!
« on: August 21, 2019, 03:41:39 PM »
Hey there, I don’t have much experience with plants but my mother in law has brought some seeds from the sapote fruit which comes from the Chupa-Chupa tree in Colombia. She would like to grow this tree here in Florida and it seems compatible but I am unsure how to begin. If someone could please point me in the right direction to get this seed to grow into a tree i would greatly appreciate it.

The seeds go bad fast so get them germinated as soon as possible.  We bury them halfway in potting soil and never let them dry out.  If your seeds are dry they are probably dead.
Grow in the pot for several months, then plant out giving ample room to develop.  If it gets dry, keep the water coming.  Be patient, even in ideal conditions they will take 5 years to produce.
