Hey Kaz,

Thanks for the pictures! The Betty #1 looks great and at 28% Brix, that is a very sweet fig. I can send you the cuttings this week or next. I stopped collecting figs a couple years ago because my yard is too small and I have too many other projects going on but thanks for the offer on the Betty #1.

Kaz, where did the name Betty come from?

I named the fig after the person who owns the property with all the wild fig trees. I can see at least 10-11 fig trees that are over 30-40 yrs old on the property but I still can't walk that normal with steady control, so I can't go into the trees to try and taste all the figs from them. I just spotted this fig ripe on the tree a few years ago when I started buying fig cuttings to collect.

I think the fig community usually name new found fig using the street or location of the fig tree.

Not for all of them, for example the figs found by Blue Malibu are;
