Wanted: Sweetheart lychee scions
« on: February 08, 2013, 08:18:05 PM »
Calling all lychee lovers.  Is anyone in possession of a Sweetheart lychee willing to send me a couple of sticks?  I don't have room for another tree, but I have a 7' Hak Ip I'm turning into a cocktail lychee.  I'd be happy to pay $20 for postage and for the trouble.  It's my understanding that while the name Sweetheart is trademarked, the variety itself isn't patented.  Feel free to straighten me out, if I'm mistaken.  Thanks!

James

fyliu,

I received two Kwai Mi Pink scions from Oscar last year and just did cleft grafts.  One of the two took, and put out a fair bit of growth, particularly last Fall.

Oscar,

Thanks for replying.  I'll keep you in mind as a source.

I have Hak Ip, No Mai Chee?, Brewster. Brewster is too small and No Mai Chee I'm not sure is actually that variety.

Mine is flowering/fruiting right now but if you still need some scions after harvest time I can send you some.
