Which one's the real kei apple seedling?
« on: November 04, 2012, 11:28:16 AM »
I have 2 seedlings coming up in a pot where I planted some Kei Apple seeds.

Can anyone tell me which one is correct, and what the other might be?

I looked online and thought the narrow leaf one was correct but then I saw another image online that resembled the wider leaf seedling.

Thanks,
Jaime

It looks like the one on the left, the thinner leaf one. My Kei apples never had that wide leaf.

Hi Jaime,
Mark nailed it...It's the one with thinner leaves 8) The one with large leaves looks like a coffee seedling to me?

I have also germinated a bunch of Kei's this year...they are very fast growing, that includes them spikes ;D

I will plant a row of them at the border of my orchard and create a protective hedge  :)

Thanks, guys. That is the one I though of as well. As far as the other one, it may, in fact, be a coffee seedling as I chew on the berries and sometimes spit out the seeds. I'll keep an eye on it.

Thanks again,
Jaime
