Tropical Fruit Discussion / Please help ID mango
« on: July 19, 2016, 12:03:31 PM »
Hey y'all please help me identify this mango. I bought this tree about 3-4 years ago from a nursery that has Zill tag labeled as Rosigold. Please help.. The fruit is about a pound or slightly over.  The fruit started to change color to a yellow tone with accent of reddish blush.. I think it might be VP not 100%..  The tree is medium vigorous grower same as my NDM.. Any help will be greatly appreciated..

This Carrie is planted in 120 gallon pot. The fruit it produced has jelly seed and uneven ripping. The fruit tends to ripen at the bottom and the shoulders are still solid green. When the skin slightly changed color the fruit would be over ripened. This is the only tree that I have a problem with. Is this due to lack of calcium sulfate or any other mineral deficiency?

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Mango tree bumps on limbs
« on: May 15, 2015, 10:02:54 PM »
Can anyone tell me what cause these bumps on the main limbs of mangos. Trees are very healthy and producing fruit. This condition is more noticeable on old wood or mature trees around the trunk. I also seen these condition at many nurseries. Is this due to growth stretch marks?

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Your favorite variety of lychee
« on: April 24, 2015, 12:04:02 PM »
There are many varieties of lychee with different flavor, seed size and coloration of fruit.
Please share your favorite variety of lychee and why.
My favorite lychee has to be the sweetheart. Produce a sweet fruit with thick flash and very small seed.
The only drawback to the sweetheart is less fruit production compare to the Brewster or the Mauritius.
Second place has to be the sweet cliff lychee.
