Fair few varieties grown there, was lucky to be there last year at harvest time, ate more than I should have.
They are south of Alice Springs.

How would you rate it in relation to the better ones around ?

28
If you keep it on the tree as long as possible, pick it when it looks a shiny black, it might be a messy feed but its flavourful and sweet.

But hey, I dislike durians & jackfruit.

Would anyone know what I would get from planting the seeds of the spicezee ?
Had a few fruits so far, really nice  , with more coming along.

It might be also that women produce life, while we have to be content with the results from our trees.
The circle of life in reflection.

OK so which gov body in USA has these forms and or hands out the inspection tags. Also in AUS is it the same? Which gov body here. so I guess we are talking about the follow the book rules way here. but what's the alternative. is it to not declare the package as seeds when you send? or still declare it but send it without documentation
[/quote]

You should know that various govt authorities monitor corresponding forums.

Have the birdseye, nice small berry size fruit, like a fair bit of water.

The birds around me prefer my blueberries, have a myriad of other organisms competing for my other fruit and nuts.

IŽll have ripe fruit in a week or 2 . And I donŽt agree with you Adam , I find them very pleasant , crunchy , sweet and juicy . I always wait till they drop on the ground , yellow at that stage and can be peeled . Actually I planted several more . The nice part is that they fruit year round .

Luc

Do you peel them or is that optional ?

39
Nice.
Hopefully your one is not too far off either.

One thing that happened when one rare fruit guy died, was his daughter did an open house to find another rarefruit person to buy it. She lived far away from the property so couldn't take care of the place.

Sure it was an attempt to get a better price since the trees were worth something to us. It was an attempt to find someone to continue to take care of her father's garden rather than ripping out most of it to build a bigger house. She also tried to make it so that she could come back to visit her old house and garden at some later time. I don't think it worked though, mostly because a small house on an acre of land at that location wasn't worth nearly what she wanted especially after the housing crash.

Anyway, just wanted to share a story.
More and more common here as well, townhouse & unit development.
A couple of well known  &  rare collections lost already that way.

Look at it as an opportunity.
The wealth of experience that you've accumulated over the years, use it to utilize the new property the best possible outcome.
We have all planted trees, that in hindsight wasn't in the best position or best type. Now you'll have the opportunity to start afresh, clean slate.

But always take anything you can, to the new place.

Sternus,
Thats ok, thanks for the consideration.
But it's a good excuse to drive up the coast next weekend.
Anything to get away sometimes.

They hate summer here. Need shade when it gets over 35 and dry. Mine were 3 foot tall and 4 died. Will try again. Not hard to get. My local native nursery sells tune stock and go green has advanced ones. Gotta get some more of these, Eleocarpus bancroftii, and Hicksbeachia pillosa and pinnitifolia in the next few weeks. All good nuts.
Bruce ,
Tried any of the nuts from these natives ?

Their probably getting back at the plants for taking up all your valuable time, instead of playing with them.

Starling,
Regular liquid copper spray, usually after we've had a shower and it's humid. Then  I spray them with any leftovers from doing the mangoes (mancozeb+ & liquid copper & spredmax).

Nice plant! I just ordered seeds of this Eugenia. Very excited to watch it grow. How long did it take to fruit?
When I got the plant it was already about 30cm, about a foot, within a couple of years it started fruiting.

Mine are 2 ft tall in the old language and the stem is a pencil thick, they came  through a perth winter no problems. The juvenile foliage varies greatly depending on light levels. In my experience they don't like foliar feeding when young. The adult foliage is tougher apparently.

How long did it take to get at that height ?
