I would say if well made jaboticaba wine can far surpass many of the grape wines.

Fairly common in Brazil. Go there and you can bring up to 2 bottles back duty free.  ;) A winery here also makes it, Volcano Winery, but they use 1/2 grape and 1/2 jaboticaba. Might be easier to buy that one in the mai:

I am not the best wine maker but imade 5gallon jug.
By leaving the skins in the ferment it makes a good red wine. if you prefer white wine
remove the skines before fermentation. good stuf. If you like a good fruity flavor drink it
in the frist months.
What is also good is the antidesma-Bignay . can't wait

I have some bignay just starting to flower. What is the procedure for making bignay wine? Is it the same or similar as making jaboticaba wine? Thanks,
Oscar

I bet they would be very good! Try it and let us know. BTW regular jaboticaba jelly is very popular here. My favorite jelly right now is lilikoi (passionfruit) with chilis. Sounds strange but tastes wonderful. Extremely addicting, proceed with caution.  ;)

It is, it is! :) Another amazing one is pineapple and chili peppers jelly. Something about getting sweet, sour, and spicy all in the same mouthful. An explosion of tastes!
