I've emailed Lynn at Frankie's nursery 2-3 times specifically requesting maprang trees but I've gotten no response. . Not sure

I'm told these are a tree that should be grafted.

Grafted trees in ideal conditions take about 5 years to fruit. Seedling trees in ideal conditions take 10+ years to fruit.

I just got my first 4 fruits last month from a 7/8years seedling who has been neglected as is on a step Hill and doesn't get water very often, is like 2meters high and is the second year flowering, it's the sweet type, small and delicious! Don't have to be peel as the skin is thin and crunchy, the flesh is firm like in a peach almost, nice beautiful manicure kind of fruit, now I'm looking for the one a little bit bigger "Mayong chid" which is sweet and tart...

i got some seeds ut old 20days. now maprang season just was finished in my country, have to wait next year[start late feb-april]. i got plenty ofgrafted maprang-mayonchid but maprang can'n't be sent bare root. they will be dead sure if root get disturbed

Maprang in Florida is a waste of of your time and effort. Florida is not tropical enough. Better to get a few of the new mango varieties such as from Zill, Excalibur or elsewhere

I've found mine to be almost just as cold hardy as mangoes. My bigger tree took 30 degrees unprotected this year. Didn't flower this year but has in the past. Fruit set seems to be the main issue but I have read that is common with these when young.

How many people have grafted trees that are over a few years old? I have no doubt that mine will hold a good crop when it gets more size on it. It's only about 6ft right now but grows well. They have actually been pretty care free trees for me.

Both Rob and Harry have posted in past threads about bearing maprang trees in Florida.

Oscar has seeds. I just ordered some to try to graft later this summer. No one in the US has grafted plants for sale. I believe Frankies in Hawaii is the only place that ever does sell grafted trees but catching them when they have some available for shipping is tough.

Yes still have the, but season has ended, so if you want them yo need to order soon. They last fairly long if properly packaged.

Maprang seeds finished for this year. For those of you who got some from me already they are from my Mayong Chid tree.

Robin there are plenty around the north and my brother and a few friends have productive mayon chid of large fruiting lines and one friend has something even better a wan that is about 20 years old.My young wan is from a different strain.Search the forum to look at Australian maprangs. They have a short season in late November from memory.
I wonder if anyone still has plants from the big fruited mayom chid I sent around a while ago.
