Hi everybody-

I've been frequenting the Tropical Fruit General Discussion board on here for the last year and steadily improving my grafting techniques with mangoes, now I'd like to try my hand with citrus (need to get some rootstock going). I'm in 10b on the Gulf Coast, what citrus seeds make good rootstock? My target fruit initially is pomelo, if that makes any difference.

Ask your county extension agent for the most HLB resistant variety that fits your culinary requirements and go buy that fruit or buy a grafted tree on the most HLB resistant root stock.

Thanks, that's a good tip!

Your county agent will tell you self propagating citrus
in Florida is illegal.

Propagating citrus by the homeowner in FL isn't allowed by the State of FL.
This includes growing from seed, grafting to rootstock, grafting, cuttings, etc.

The devastation to the citrus industry in FL from HLB is very significant.

You can purchase citrus plants produced by licensed growers.  This includes plants for resale that were produced by licensed sellers.  A few examples would be Harris and BriteLeaf.
