Mangoes from El Salvador
« on: January 11, 2017, 12:05:45 PM »
Hello, I was wondering if anybody has any information on the types of mangoes that can be found in El Salvador because my parents would talk about the types of mangoes that they would eat throughout their childhood over there some of the varieties they would mention would be mango alcanfor, mango mechudo also known as mango de agua, and mango manzana. I was wondering if anybody knew any varieties of mango that can be found in El Salvador that match these names.

I've heard of those. You should contact CENTA for more info. They are involved in selecting superior local fruit cultivars and could give you more info if you can get in touch with one of their agricultural engineers: http://www.centa.gob.sv
