Spreader Sticker - does it help?
« on: April 26, 2012, 11:17:29 PM »
Recently I had a debate with a friend about using Spreader Sticker for a nutrient spray.  The Spreader Sticker makes the nutrients waterproof; which presumably would make it more difficult to be absorbed by the tree.  Does spreader-sticker help for a nutrient spray?

The Spreader Sticker makes sense for fungicide/herbicide; making the fungicide/herbicide waterproof makes sense, so that it stays on the tree longer.

Yes they can really help improve the efficacy of your nutritional sprays!

I use Black Strap Molasses as a spreader sticker, in conjunction with my Agripro (Turfpro) organic micro nutrient.  The molasses has iron and sugars in it, and the sugars give the biology in Agripro (same as turfpro) and Megagreen, something to feed on...this really enhances the products ability to be absorbed in to the leaves/stems and potency of spraying.

There are many other methods of utilizing a spreader sticker, but the above method is extremely effective and safe.  SO I prefer to stick to this method, in order to not spread contaminants into the environment or my meal!
