You mean I've been advising people to do the wrong thing?
as soon as the trees get to a certain age, they always end up getting bumps all over the trunk...
I knew this was unhealthy, so I've torn out lots of large trees as soon as this occurs after about 10 yrs in some cases.
This disease characterized by small bumps forming on the bark, will soon spread to other jaboticaba trees nearby.
So I've been having all of my friends yank out their trees, and of course the wood makes excellent charcoal...so we've been making lots of room for cattle, and soy beans.
I don't think I'm giving bad advice...I hope you don't either.
