I still have so many things to try, but so far here are my favorites.

1. Mangosteen
2. Durian
3. Blackberries and Huckleberries
4. Jackfruit
5. Pomegranate
Interesting list.  What do you think of mango and cherimoya?

1. Fe'i banana

2. Durian

3. Chupa-Chupa.

4. Salak

5. Chempedak.

Hard to say really. Coconuts are at the top of the list also, but I suppose they don't count.

OK I decided to add my opinion in this absolutely personal top list  :)

First: a due foreword: in my opinion different fruits belonging to the same  species can have a COMPLETELY different taste/texture, flavour according to the different variety/cultivar and condition in which the fruit was grown and harvested (soil, climate, water availability, fertilization, time of harvest etc...)

NON Tropicacals:

1- Vignola  Black cherry
2- Tabacchiera peach ( Prunus persica var. platycarpa)
3- Water melon ex aequo apricot var. carpentras
4- Hicaz pomegranate
6- Black grapes var. Michele Palieri ex aequo with Black fig var. Petite Negri

Tropicals:
1- Star apple Chrysophyllum cainito (we've a golden skinned unnamed variety here really super)
2- Durian var puyat  ex aequo sweet tamarind thai variety sri tong
3- Mango var. Manila
4- Avocado var. Modena
5- Ex aequo sweet soursoup, sugarapple, passiflora  edulis (variety with "hexagonal" fuits") and several others  :)

If they are the same, cucumber and watermelon, then why are they differenet genus and species?
Cucumber: Cucumis sativus
Watermelon: Citrullus lanatus
Having grown both in very large number i can tell you these are very diffenrent plants, though in same family.
Not sure what wikipedia is talking about?

It is true. You WANT to love it, but very little taste. Looks and texture of chocolate pudding, just has a very mild sweetness to it. There is a Mexican lady at Fruitscapes that makes a FANTASTIC loaf of bread with it. I’d kill for her recipe. How pineislander doesn’t gain weight living so close to that, I’ll never figure.

You came here four years ago for a big sweet tart reveal and tasting. The first time you ate one as your ST tree was still growing.  Hope all is well with your orchard projects.

I have not had the opportunity to eat the wide variety of (to me) exotic fruits listed by other people. But, my top five, combining tropical and temperate fruits, in reverse order.

5. Too difficult to narrow down. Moro blood oranges, but it is sometimes hard to get them perfectly ripened. Cotton Candy grapes, sweet and flavorful. Hachiya persimmon. I could probably add a few more.

4. Nagami kumquat: I ate so many of these once that I burned my tongue. The sweet peel and sour pulp are almost unbeatable, in my opinion.

3. Lychee: I have yet to get tired of eating lychees.

2. Sumo (Dekopon) mandarin: Moro blood oranges were my favorite orange until I tried these at one of my local grocery stores. These are sweet without being cloying, and I have yet to have a bad one.

1. (Wild) Muscadine: I like muscadines, but my favorite fruit is from a wild (or at least feral) muscadine vine climbing up an oak tree on the shores of Wheeler Lake in rural Lawrence County, Alabama. I stayed at a lake house for a couple of summers, and in late summer, I would walk over to this vine twice a day to make sure I did not miss any fruit. Smaller than the muscadines I see in stores, those fruits were a nice shade of purple with uncommonly thin skin of a nice sour flavor and a pulp with the consistency of a soft, juicy gummy bear and a sweet, strong muscadine flavor. I wish I was into growing fruits back then; I would have taken some cuttings, but I have not been back there in six years and probably could not get permission to go onto that parcel of property today.
