Do mango flowers need cross pollination ?
« on: August 28, 2016, 01:30:42 PM »
    Hello

I think I already know the answer to this question but I'm asking on behalf of a co worker and do not want to give him bad information. He has a single mango tree and was wondering if it would set fruit without a second tree ?

I'm no mango expert, but I know that at least some of them don't need cross pollination, and I'm guessing that none do.  Maybe one of the mango experts will verify that.

Some of them are in fact partially or completely self-incompatible. Julie is one such example.
