Chlorosis In Eugenias - Got An Organic Cure?
« on: December 11, 2016, 02:35:31 PM »
I've noticed the new leaf growth in several of my Eugenias is experiencing Chlorosis.
Is there an organic solution to this problem?
Right now they are in containers in my greenhouse -  if that makes a difference.
Thanks.

Cottonseed meal based fertilizers have worked well for me. Something like down to earth's acid mix would work great!
Also are you watering with city water? Mixing in peat moss with your potting mix when you up-pot would also be beneficial

Yes, city water is the only practical source of water.
Cottonseed meal sounds like a good idea.
Plenty of that around here.

Thank you.

It seem to effect seedling grumichamas primarily. Some Surinam cherrys as well.
Not strictly organic but certainly natural, I have read about elemental sulfur being beneficial.
My local feed and seed carries both cottonseed meal and sulfur. I will check them out tomorrow.
Thanks.

I use diluted fish waste from my fish tank skimmers. Not practical for everyone. (Because not everyone keeps fish tanks.) But works well. Gotta beware of salt content though.

Went to my local feed and seed and picked up a 50 pound bag of cotton seed meal for 12 bucks.
Buy local man!
