Which tropical fruit produce fruit fast from seed???
« on: December 23, 2017, 10:44:48 PM »
Hi everyone!
I’m looking for species of tropical fruit that can produce in the first year or two FROM SEED. I have some plants on my list like passion fruit and papaya but I’m looking for less common fruit now. Everyone feel free to chime in on which fruits you think produce fruit the fastest! I have some seeds like junglesop but those can take up to twenty years to produce a fruit and it would be nice to have some fresh fruit while I wait!
Thanks

I think I had a sugar apple produce fruit in two years from seed.     bananas,  although from pups,  is another quickie.   and lulo, ( Solanum quitoense ) , makes a decent juice like passions fruit.

Rollinia can be pretty quick to fruition.

I would go with papaya, pineapple and banana (except pineapples and bananas don't come from seed). Also, some berry bushes like Acerola fruit quickly.
