Papayas Getting Eaten!
« on: October 23, 2018, 11:24:02 AM »
All my papaya sprouts are getting devoured by grasshoppers and I don't know what to do, does anyone have successful solution to this problem?

I already tried a hot pepper and soap solution every day and it doesn't seem to do anything. Maybe I can just plant 20-30 seeds in one spot and hope that 1 papaya is bound to survive to get big enough. I've also heard of malathion but haven't tried it yet, what do you all think?

When the big lubbers arrive I’ve had good luck with neem oil to protect amaryllis and other bulbs. It needs constant applications especially with lots of rain though.

After a few weeks of stomping a lot, haven't seen any around here in a while.
