People may still have those varieties in the ground somewhere. Likely your best bet. The varieties I usually see available here are UF Sun, Tropic Beauty, Tropic Snow, and Florida Prince.
This one is a KAUAI WHITE SUGARLOAF and WHITE JADE. These are the same cultivar. This plant gets quite large and will do well in a 7gal pot. It has smooth leaves, and a white sweet subacid flesh and semi edible core. The cores are edible but are harder than the surrounding flesh. This plant is not as cold hardy as some other varieties. Its a slow grower but does make a decent amount of offsets and slips. The leaves turn red and purple in the sun. It is normal and will turn this color even with the same feeding program as other types that stay green. Some pineapple plants just turn colors and this one does a lot. This fruit has a brix of 16-17 and low acid making it taste very sweet.
John, i was there the other day as well. The sales manager Pho( or Phi, pardon if i spelled wrong) was probably out in the nursery, not there and could not see Gary either. The two ladies at the desk were there just to collect money after the sale of mangoes. Plus due to Covid they were doing a line outside with only one person in at a time, i bought and left so that others in line get to come in sooner. Had a lot of questions myself regarding release of newer varieties but it just did not seem like the setting die to Covid panic.
M4 wins for disease resistance in my humid fungus-prone location. It sets fruit like a champ. I have quite a few fruit on my young M4 tree. Coconut Cream barely produced for me before my 15ft tree was killed by Irma, snapped at the graft. I have no desire to plant another Coconut Cream.
Hi everybody-
I was watching a video of Richard Campbell showing off his home collection and picked up his referencing some of his mangoes being on dwarf rootstock. He seemed to be indicating grafting onto dwarf rootstock was effective for limiting tree size. Anybody have any success with this approach? What dwarf varieties would you recommend? I'm in Sarasota, not many sources around here for particular mango varieties, so I figure I'll need to order a box from somewhere or make a road trip.
BTW, I have a spreadsheet of mango varieties that lists the following as dwarf:

Why the excitement about May First? This is too soon for sweetness. Mangoes need more sugar pumped into them via solar conversion via the leafy trees they hang from.
