ANNONAS
  - Atemoyas or sugar apples will be ready to harvest b

September, and October.  There is a trick to have a 2
nd crop in the new year
(out of season).
Pinch off new growth, plus five leaves back on the stem
.  New sprouts will
emerge with flowers.  (Yea Yea!)
To pollinate the flowers, you can use a fine sable brush
 to move pollen from
flower to flower.  Or you can place a small amount of
banana peel or fruit peelings at the
base of the Annona to attract a small hard shell beetle
.  The beetle will at night pollinate
the Annona flowers.

After Hurricane Irma knocked down all my annonas I cut them back
and staked them upright. I ended up with a late fruit set and the fruit
didn't ripen properly in the winter and wasn't edible? The seeds were
not fertile either.

They recovered from cutting back?

Another solution to enjoy Annonas out of season would be to freeze it, I suppose. Anything that produces a second crop could reduce the next main crop. Plants need to refill its reserves.

This technique worked great for me to get the first flowering on a 2 year old Atemoya. It also induces good branching on the trees instead of branches 1-2 feet long you can get the branches to split into multiple stems wherever you want. I have tried it on soursop too and it does work too.
