Plastic closures are dangerous during the winter such are these domes especially in zones under 7.
The thing is that air get trapped inside with a high moisture content which make it a bad insulator. for citrus is not a good long term solution like 3 months long winter.
Why? Because the plants need aeration, citrus sleeps well with dry cold air, not humid. This will lead to disease and die back.

Leaves look dehydrated. Clearly it's a water intake from a root problem, some pathogen not necessary root rot. I would change the soil once again and put it in a mini greenhouse to keep humidity over 90%.

FD would be ideally tissue culture propagated as with seeds there are variations and unwanted cross pollination especially with those with many citrus plants.

Not the best idea to grow mango from seed in stores. Seeds are mostly weak and immature which will make a weak plant.
Hi, this is my 15 months old mango. I'm thinking that it need some fertilization or something else. Could you give me an advice? I live in Italy and the climate is not the best for growing mango.

Musa acuminata and balbisiana are also grown from seeds. I do it. I takes 3-4 years to set fruit. Tissue culture minimum 14 months even in zone 10, they grow slower than a sword pup.
A sword pup in my zone 7B can be grown in 2 years to set fruit.

The appearance of the skin is very dark opaque too (not anthracnose though) -- not the clear golden orange that I'm used to. What could be wrong? Is there a trick to producing big beautiful looking fruit?

They will take cold weather, not freezing temperatures. Where other mangoes stop growing this mango continues to grow. Resists well to drought and calcareous soil. Probably hardier than turpentine

That would act as a heat sink during the day and increase temperature few degrees during the night when is cold.I had that fleeting thought as well, but it would probably increase the heat differential between night and day, probably not such a good thing, we want the plants to seamlessly enter dormancy and not prematurely come out of dormancy.
I think it would act as a thermal battery. I do it with black painted water bottles. You won't get new growth without sustained warm temperatures.

I have, but you need to wait them to grow more until next year. I graft on them like this but you need the skills they are 4-5 mm in diameter, they are 13 months old, I cleft grafted maybe 20 of them this autumn with 100% success, but if you want to bud them then you need to wait.

Another bad idea.
Just let them sleep during the winter, unless you have limes which fruit and flower every month. But then, they are cheaper in supermarket so you need to have a big tree to compensate the cost.

Of course it isn't much, but it proves how much a tiny little seedling, on its own roots, can regrow after a cold winter and after being killed to the ground.
I am interested to see your experiment. I replicate it with grafted trees in the same zone as you. Your growth rate is very slow, I prefer to grow them fast and strong then plant them outside.
