We had couple of E-4 last year - Thanks Steve from Fruitscapes!!!

They were definitely a top tier mango. Very sweet and creamy, with hints of pineapple and coconut. Loved them!

Ed,
E4 is more flavorful than Coco Cream. While Coco Cream is very coconutty and sweet, E4 is both that and comes with some tartness and tasted mangoey. E4 is definitely a must-have.

For pure coconut flavor people seem to think M4 is a better choice, E4 is coconut/pineapple so it's got some acidity to it

10 years and +200 mango varieties later, E4 makes the top 10 (#9 to be precise).  As for Coconut Cream, tough to choose between them.

One of my Cotton Candy’s died due to neglect after my irritation pump died, so I replaced it with E-4. After reading this post, I’m glad I did

E4 is definitely in my top 5. We’ve enjoyed Abayomi’s yearly mango rankings awaiting Zill’s new releases. Here is my top 5 and E4 is in the elite group.

LZ
ST
Señorita
E4
Creme brûlée

I noticed in Gambit's picture, the E-4 was picked green,  is this one of those varieties that stay green when they ripen,  or do they ripen well picked green like that,  to me that is a desired feature for a tree that might be an easy access to passerby's.

Every one of the E4's turned out excellent, and stayed green when ripe. One fruit did did not even lightened up when we cut into it 3-4 days later. I don't prefer tart mangos, but the E4's had just a slight tartness to balance out the sweet. I have a sweet tooth and IMO the Sweet Tarts in my yard are too sour for me, albeit it's in its first year of fruiting.

Oh that's great, i think this one will be the next one I plant,  a top tier mango , that can be picked green would definitely deter two legged bandits.

The ones I sampled were green and were wonderful so I planted mine outside the fence as it won’t bring em in like a red fruit does

Hi, Ed, not sure if it's convenient for you to get there or if she'll have them again, but Jene's Tropicals in St Pete had Orange Sherbet and Lemon Zest fruit for sale at her annual fruit tasting last July. I bought a few of both fruit because of all the hype and really disliked them. They both had an orange creamsickle taste (less so for LZ) which I found disgusting. While I have a bad habit of planting every fruit seed I encounter, I tossed the OS and LZ seeds.
