Going by skin segments and shape, I'd say they are not sugar apple. They look more like atemoyas or atemoya hybrids meaning atemoya backcrossed with either sugar apple or cherimoya.

I planted 2 Lisa atemoya seeds and one has more round cherimoya looking leaves and one has
long slender leaves? I also planted 40+ African Pride atemoya seeds for rootstock next Spring.
So far around 30 have come up and look identical?  I don't think you have anything to lose by
planting the seeds if you have the room and time. I planted mine in 1 gallon pots so I won't have
to do much except water until I graft next Spring. I place the seeds in between damp papertowels
and plant them when they germinate

From the same batch in the fruit shop

Are we still sure this is atemoyas??
I ask this because it has a lot of "scales" next to the peduncle, anonna squamosa is called like that because of the scales.
Thanks guys

I bought atemoyas that looked identical in Canada, imported from Brazil.

So, its the same thing. These fruits were imported from Brasil to Portugal but in the label only says anonas.
Either atemoyas or sugar apples. Possibly atemoyas so..

Yeah, really creamy and tasty. Lots of seeds though.
